We will be re-routing a section of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail in Rocky Mountain National Park at the height of the most beautiful time of year there -- mid-July. This week-long service work trip is open to SCA alumni, and friends and family. You should be reasonably fit, but no previous trailwork experience is necessary. The minimum age is 15 and there is no upper limit.

The 8 crew members will be led by two experienced SCA crew leaders, who will have spent the previous month leading a high school crew in another part of the Park. Our work will be on the West side of the park, out of the Onahu Trailhead, located at about 9,000 feet.  You will help re-route an important section of the popular trail, specifically, building 1/2 mile of new trail and some structures (water bars, etc.).  The project site is located about 1/2 mile from the trailhead. 

You will likely camp at 8,000 feet in a meadow near a National Park Service cabin and able to use the kitchen and bathroom. There will be a yet-to-be-determined recreation day in the middle of the week. For some of the evenings, park rangers will visit and talk about the park.

Be prepared to be fully participatory, both in the work for each day and the work around camp, including sharing cooking and cleaning responsibilities.

Should you have to cancel, we will be able to refund 75% of your registration fee if you cancel by July 10th, but none of your fee if you cancel after July 10th.
